| dieting I've never been very good at sticking to a set diet (Weightwatchers, Scottish slimmers, atkins etc.) but I find that its easy to stray off a diet if theres no "weigh-in" type thing.
Was wandering if there was anyone on here wanted to diet with me, it could be a good way to share advice and stuff, and we could have a weigh in every week where u post how much you've lost/gained that week.
Dunno if anyone would be interested, was just an idea. Let me know |

See the best way to think of it is every week you can loose an average of 2lb which is healthy so in one month u can loose just over half a stone. Best not think of how fast u can loose it, only gets depressing and (i) comfort eat lol
Yea when u post a weight gain and admit u havent stuck to it u'l feel crap. Even more reason for it to work
Its easier (IMO) to stick to a diet in the early stages if u dont change to much at once. Like suddenly eating smaller portions as well as suddenly exercising manickly, its hard to stick to see.
But all stomach exercises help your sides aswell, like sit ups and leg ups and side stretches
Thursday is a whole day away, im gona munch so much so i dont crave it for a while, yknow what i mean |

| Re: dieting I can't really join a club where u gotta go to meetins every week cos with my work, theres never a specific time i'm garuanteed to have off every week. So i'm gonna try do it myself and use here as a weigh-in. cos really thats the whole point in weekly meetings, isnt it? making it embarrassin to have not lost weight when other people know. |

Yeah i know what u mean (we're like a smiley fest when we post!) Right so i'll see if i can get down the town today or tomoro to use the scales in Boots (dont have scales in my house cos i went a bit mad, and started weighin myself 2-3 times a day), and then I'll post up in a week how i've got on. already feelin under pressure!
i think alcohol's my biggest problem. any ideas what i can drink thats not got millions of calories in it? been drinkin a lot of lambrini etc. which i know is real bad, although theres a diet one now, which mite be good to keep in mind.
i'm probs gonna start smokin a load more now aswell, if i try cut out sweets! EEK! |

| Re: dieting well I think we should make a community on Livejournal so its a bit more private, can make it so only the members can see it rather than all and sundry on the forum. I know we arent actually posting our weights but still... its open for slagging, and unless any of us has mod status we cant edit or delete and posts. |

| Re: dieting Exercise is the key.
And if you've got 2-3 stone to lose, surely you'll have more than just flabby sides?
Go swimming, join a gym, go to classes, go out for a long walk, do something which you find enjoyable, and before too long you'll find you tone up, have more energy and will probably lose weight into the bargain.
You know you can also do weight watchers online? That might be best for you to start off with.
My Mum joined weight watchers last year and has lost 3 and a half stone on it. She still goes to meetings, and really enjoys it.
One recipe she told me about is this (its for a really healthy ice-cream):
Take a banana, chop it up and freeze it.
Once frozen, take it out of the freezer and process it until its a smooth pulp, adding berries to colour and taste.
Put it back into the freezer, and once its frozen take it out and enjoy it like ice-cream.
My Mum tried it and its apparently delicious and is just like ice-cream, with probably less than 1 point per serving. |
