| Shoulder pain My right should is very sore all the way round from the actual shoulder to the shoulder blade. Not sure if I pulled a muscle in it moving stuff about yesterday or if I've been lying on it funny during the night.
Put some Deep Heat on it this morning and have taken some pain killers but quite fancy soaking tonight in a hot bath to try and ease the pain and loosen it up a bit.
Question is, anyone suggest any oils or bath salts type stuff to help with this? I usually use Radox but I know there are other/better options availabe other than generic brands!
Cheers |

| Re: Shoulder pain It might just be the way you are sleeping, I get that sometimes.
Also, try this:
Stand up straight and take a deep breath, if the pain gets worse as you inhale, then you *might* have a collapsed lung.
Mine felt like a pulled muscle.
it it's muscle pain, just take a long soak in the bath, that should do it. No need for any oils or nothing.

| Re: Shoulder pain Try the Deep Heat stuff that you actually pour into the bath, it's really good.
Also, Nurofen Ibuleve gel is decent as well - I had a really sore back a few months ago and they both done the business for me. |

I'm not saying impossible, but there's most likely have to be a major reason why you'd have it, that I think you'd know about eg. a sucking chest wound... |

Cause I got mine walking up stairs. Had a pain in my shoulder, that felt weird when I was breathing, went to see the doc, and next thing I was in hostipal for 3 damn months!
But yea, it's v.unlikely, but it's always good to prepare for the worst.
Doctor in training, you're rubbish.

| Re: Shoulder pain What sort of range of movement do you have? What sort of movement causes maximum pain? I've done both my shoulders before, pulled my AC on my left side and had a partial tear of my AC on the right side. It's annoying as it really affects your confidence in the tackle.
Does shruggin hurt? Raising to the front? To the side? bringin your arm behind you? Does it hurt when you pull it across your chest?

Also when I'm not moving it has a dull aching pain. Methinks it is from the way I was lying last night and hopefully a nice hot soak tonight should help.
Cheers anyway Lovey! |

Cheers anyway Lovey! | Must have been lying awfy awkward. Hehehe Dr Awkward is a palindrome.
Hmmm, if it's not better after the bath look in the mirror and check if the sore shoulder appears to hvae an extra bump in it just where the collarbone comes up to meet it, if it does you may have pulled your acromio clavicular joint.
Also check your rotator cuff is fine, put your arm at ninety degrees at the elbow and try and keep you elbow to your side while moving the arm out (ie point in front of you then point to your side).

| Re: Shoulder pain Try a heat pad or hot water bottle on the affected area......if it is a muscular pain then this should help relieve it.
