Re: Excema

Dream cream will make some but a small effect. If your skin is broken it hurts like hell. The doc gave me eumovate ages ago and my excema is totally clear. If I don't use of for 4 days (approx) it comes back. So I only have to use it ever couple of days in tiny amounts.

I would suggest keep using it just now. Try this;

1) A non-fragrant face wash with an exfoliant sponge on the areas you find most trouble.
2) Put on a tiny amount of Eumovate for the face and Betnovate on the rest of your body
3) Apply dream cream on top of the areas that are really ruff
4) Buy Lemon aid from benefit if the excema is on your face. It is approx £16 but it lasts forever and you just put it under foundation and on top of the mosturiser. The yellow pigment gets rid of the redness in your skin. Helped esp with my eyes.
5) If you have drank alot of alcohol, make sure you drink at least a pint of water before bed. The alcohol makes your skin irritable.

That's my advice

Hmmm my Eumovate tube is almost finished Might have to go back to the doctors and see what they say. It's seriously horrendous and popping up in weird places it never has before - strange patches on my thighs I cry.

Re: Excema

Was mummified as a kid at night, then over the years it was going away. Then BANG one time at New Year's it came back with a vengeance, breaking out over my neck and my feet - a place where I never had it - and it was fucking brutal.

Now it isn't all that bad, feet still get mad itchy and the palms of my hand now get itchy

As for creams I use Cetraben and Doublebase, and Vaseline on the feet. 50/50 is good, but really greasy and I use E45 bath oil, which is actually the bees bollocks.

I long for the day where I will not have it, but alas I do not think that day will come.

Re: Excema

I've thankfully never had eczema but I do get a horrible patch of itchyness on my wrist when I get stressed. But Sky gets really bad eczema on the back of one of her legs. It's a wee shame when it flares up coz she scratches it all the time and it's really hard to tell her to stop. But the dream cream really does help her. Gets rid of the itching pretty much over night. Hope you all find something that works!

My face is always unaffected, maybe a wee flare up now and then but never actually cut or anything. Though I tend to rub it a lot ....

Re: Excema

Arghh I've had it since I was a baby as well

Eczema on my arms at birth, went away when I was about 7, then my gran died and I got it on the backs of my knees (REALLY bad, like cracked/weeping etc), then after that had gone I went into 1st year and got it on my hands. It's almost gone, sort of disappeared nearly completely by 5th year and instead of going dry and cracked, it just goes tight and red now.

It's now reappearing a weeee bit on my arms and wrists. But meh. I went to see a dermatologist about it a wee while ago and she thinks I have both contact dermatitis and eczema.

Does anyone with it on their hands get really deep ridges in their nails? The dermatologist told me that this indicates when you had a really bad flare up of it - it irritates the nail bed and causes interrupted growth. She also told me that if you're stressed your eczema can get ridiculously bad, so try to chill out more, have baths etc when it gets bad

Might go to the doctors in the morn to get a huge tup of Diprobase (used to use that yonks ago)

I used Diprobase as well, but because it's just an emollient I started becoming immune to it. Eumovate did nothing really :\

I hate my skin.

I really really hate it when you think it's going away and it just moves somewhere else

The one thing I did find (although obv everyone is different and it might not work for you) is this hand lotion by Bayliss and Harding. It looks like a ripoff of Molten Brown, is slightly fragranced and contains vitamins. It's AMAZING for using after you wash your hands, and it's really helped the eczema on my arms and anywhere else it appears.

£2 gets you a huge bottle - from New Look. I kid you not. It's worth a try.

Re: Eczema

My neck's broken out recently, although I think that's a reaction between my sweat and the metal clasp on my necklace - seeing as it only really irritates me when I'm at the gym.

Re: Eczema

I used to break out something rotten on my face, chest and neck whenever I had a really hot shower - I think it was brought on by heat, or sweat.

I think I'm allergic to my sweat
