| Re: Im soo sleeepy! Definitely think this time of year doesn't help! The cold dark nights always make me less inclined to do anything, and consequently the less I do the less I feel like doing something..........vicious circle.
Spring is coming though.......soon have brighter days and longer evenings and that really does cheer the mind up!
Glandular fever (epstein-barr virus) can also lead to M.E i believe - perhaps you need further blood tests to get a better diagnosis. |

I've spoke to the doctor about the hereditary aspect of it, and apparently its very rare for it to pass to male offspring (it affects 5x as many women as men)- NHS page. Still, a simple blood test can rule it out. I had one done about 2 weeks ago, just to be safe. Turns out I don’t have an under active thyroid, I’m just fat and lazy. Heh heh.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! Ive got this too. No matter how much sleep I get, Im always knackered.
No iron defficiencies, no thyroid problems, and my diet is normally fine, aside from possibly a bit too much booze, but then I normally only go out twice a week now, so Im not sure if that could maybe have something to do with it.
Lectures are the worst, if its warm in the lecture theatre, I pretty much cant keep my eyes open.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! At the risk of sounding cheeky, maybe the problem with some of you is a lack of activity. I used to find that during the summer breaks I was tired all the time and didnt really do anything with my time, but as soon as i was back into 9-5 uni I slept like a log and felt decent during the days. If you make a point of doing something that should tire you out every day you might start to even out. But def still see a doc, could be an iron issue.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! I must agree, when i went through a phase of being sleepy all the time, i found that exercising the mind and body helped me get through it, plus forcing myself to bed and forcing myself up at times in the morning

As an aside, are any of you on medication? I'm currently suffering from fearful insomnia and mood swings due to painkillers im taking, but I had no idea that was the cause until I asked my doctor about it. I think a lack on energy is a pretty common side effect of many over the counter meds, and probably more so with prescription stuff.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! I was never on medication when i went throught it, but i did find Boots did these Sleep Well Cones, little cones you put on the outside of the wrist(palm facing up) and i find they are great for helping the mind relax and to drop off naturally
