| Im soo sleeepy! All the time. I could happily go to sleep for hours at any point in the day so im gonna goto the doctor and see. I've alwasy been a kinda sleepy person but its starting to affect uni a bit in the sense i leave early to go home and sleep! Im thinking the doctor might fob it all of as laziness which i actually thought it was but im not so sure now. Can't find motivation to do anything! Has anyone ever had the same symptoms and done something about it? |

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! Aye, your iron might be low.
However, it's always a good idea to get up early and go to bed at a reasonable time.
I've felt like that before too.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! I had glandular fever a year ago and it hit me pretty hard. It feels like that lethargy all over again without the other symptoms which is why it worries me. I actually cant remeber the last day i had where i didnt have a sleep through the day after uni ro before i went to work. I went to watch neighbours the other day. Sat down on the couch about 10 mins before it was to start. I fell asleep before it even came on and woke up 3 hours later :s |

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! I went through a phase of doing nothing but sleeping for a while when I was in second and third year of uni. I was out like a light at 9pm most nights and used to even have a nap in the afternoon on days off.
Never bothered with the Docs, just got myself into a routine and kept my brain stimulated when I felt tired instead of watching the telly.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! Thyroid issues would cause other symptoms too though -i.e overactive would cause weight loss, muscle wasting, loss of concentration, worsening eyesight, loss of appetite and, sometimes, hair loss.

| Re: Im soo sleeepy! the first time i was constantly tired was when i was anaemic. i just thought i was a lazy teenager, but i could barely stay awake all day. it got to the point where i could hardly function so i went to the doctors. turns out i had the iron count of a wee decrepit old woman....got some iron tablets and hey ho i was dandy. another symptom i noticed at the time was if i walked for a few minutes i would be roasting, even if i was just strolling....id definatly ask for blood test because if it is iron deficiency you dont want to leave it to get bad, it was horrible
the other time was when i was depressed, i think it was more from the fact that i didnt want to move, so sitting watching tv all day made me tired. that and i wouldnt get out of bed for days at a time....
