Giving up smoking (yes, another one) - Page 2

I'm not a smoker myself but i've had a little experience of smoking cessation clinics through work and from what i've heard they are really helpful. There's no harm in going along, it could be crap in which case don't bother going again, but it could be just what you need.

Last night was ROTTEN, had to stand outside alone, in the rain.

So this morning I decided to quit, but I woke up and had a fag without even thinking about it, so I'll have to stop tommorrow.

I went to a couple of bars on Sunday afternoon to check out what it'd be like having to go out in the cold, etc for a puff. Was utter bollocks and I spent most of Monday talking myself into giving up. Then I went to visit my Mum last night after her holiday and got a carton of Luckies. Ah well - maybe next week.

I wouldn't be that bad, if people didn't look at you like you were a lepor.

Might get better when the novelty wears off, but I had folk walking past me last night saying 'HA HA!'. pppfffft.

I've never been a regular smoker though I used to have the odd one when I was a lot younger so I cannot fathom how you can give up for 9 10 months and still start again.

me either, but I did... twice

i guess its like giving up for a while then starting up again months later, loads of my mates have done that. plus when i was pregnant i didn't really go out like to the pub or clubs, whereas once i'd had the weans i started going out again occasonally, and thats the most tempting situation for a smoker.

*found out last night that smoking in the pub is entirely possible as long as you look like you'll rip apart anyone who complains, plus it was fun to stub out fags on the no smoking sign, although why i carved a swastika on the table is anybodys guess*

I might risk my life in one of the bars in Lochee or Hilltown just to see some council enforcement officer trying to tell some of the hulking, unhinged, shaven-headed neanderthals that they can't smoke.
