| Re: Mood swings + PMS Ive got PCOS, my moodswings are awful.
I just stay away from folk as much as possible if I feel crap, and if I do have a go I apologise. My hormones are muddled a bit but its no excuse to be a cowbag.

| Re: Mood swings + PMS i used to get such bad pains that id pass out...for some reason it was my back that hurt, not my stomach. never really got mood swings but id know i was going to feel really bad so i used to get anxious and stressed. i still get it to a lesser extent but the pill helped. im scared of the implant i dont like the idea of something being in my body for that long. which i realise is REALLY irrational.

| Re: Mood swings + PMS I've been on the pill for about 4 years now, before I was on it I got horrific cramps and basically was bedridden for at least a day, as well as feeling constantly tired the week before & the week of my period.
Since I've been on the pill I rarely get cramps, and if I do they're only mild discomfort instead of excrutiating pain. The mood swings though - not quite as bad, but still there (although, that's just something I've always been prone to, even pre-puberty) but I find I'm far more emotional these days and sometimes I find myself welling up for absolutely no reason. I never used to cry so easily |

I refuse to portray myself as a poor little maiden that needs wrapped in cotton wool once a month. | Considering some judges view PMT as a mitigating circumstance in murder trials, I don't think it's a cop out at all. |

I used to get so moody before i was on the pill. I'd feel so low and snap at people, its not like i wanted to snap at people and piss my family off but i genuinely couldnt help feeling so agitated.
The pill got rid of them tho which is amazing. |

| Re: Mood swings + PMS I hate being female sometimes...hate bleeding like a gutted pig, hate having hormones which cause my boobs to explode, then shrink to nothing, whilst feeling bruised even when I walk. Hate sticky menstrual blood, hate being tired and bloated.....oh and did I mention I hate being female sometimes?? Quote:

I refuse to portray myself as a poor little maiden that needs wrapped in cotton wool once a month. | I'm more wrapped in barbed wire than cotton wool. I see and hear myself (like watching from outside a glass bowl), but I have very high oestrogen levels and this causes more than just mood swings. I think have the double X syndrome, whereby females are mozaics due to X inactivation, is quite a unique status....but awful when you're sensitive to hormonal imbalances. Then we have the 'change' to cope with...sounds fecking awful not to mention all the cardiovascular/osteo problems that come with it.

| Re: Mood swings + PMS Kirsten will know better than me, but I think St John's Wort can interfere with the effects of the pill. However, Evening Primrose capsules are said to have a similar effect as St John's, without compromising your pill. |
