#1 | | Guest | Insurers There's been a few threads with people asking for recommendations for insurers, so this thread is going to be stickied for future reference and the first post edited with links to recommended insurers.
My recommendation would be AQuote, who have been the cheapest insurers I've found over the last four years for a driver under 25. | |

| Re: Insurers www.confused.com give a guide price to a lot of differen companies by filling in the one form, my only problem with them is that they come up with a price usually way over what you get if you go to the insurance company on its own. http://www.norwichunion.co.uk Offer huge (40%) discounts for new drivers who get pass plus, this makes them really competitive, prices are rather high without pass plus though. offer 10 month policies to gain NCB quickly http://www.elephant.co.uk Usually one of the cheaper ones, part of the admiral group and offers good prices, discounts for pass plus arn't so huge, but a lower start for new drivers compensates for this, again has the 10 month NCB route to get NCB quickly. http://www.adriunflux.co.uk Good for powerful/performance/rare/exotic cars. Can be rather expensive for your standard Corsa ive found. Very good in the case of an accident (or so ive been told) http://www.aplan.co.uk another specialist insurer for performance/power/exotic cars. There cheap for them too. http://www.esure.co.uk if your an old fart you can try esure, but you must have 4 NCB before you can sigh up, and be over 25 ( I think its 25)

| Re: Insurers Just to let you know, there will be a difference in price with the same insurer depending where you get a quote, what time of month it is and what add ons you get, so look for quotes a month or so before renewal and check loads of comparison sites, brokers and call direct. The difference in quotes for the same cover with the same company can be significant.

| Re: Insurers For anything a little out of the ordinary, Footman James are a good port of call. They insured the beetle fully comp for a couple of hundred quid a year even though Marie had only just passed her test and hence had no no claims bonus. My friend has six cars insured with them and they've been cheapest by miles for him. They specialise in classic / sports / other unusual cars but do insure "normal" cars too.
To get an online quote you need to be over 25 and have a garage, which probably isn't most of y'all, so ring 'em on 0845 458 6782

| Re: Insurers A tip: do a search under some kind of comparison site (tesco compare/confused.com/money supermarket) and find the cheapest quotes. Then call whoever the quotes are from and see what they can do direct. You would be amazed at how much further a discount you can get like this. The comparison sites are pretty straight forward and quick to use, and whilst they don't comapre every insurer, they will at least give you a pointer as to which insurer is after the type of business you will give them (all insurers go after specific driver/vehicle groups).
