| Re: Just generic WoW venting... Doing the level-grind just to turn it into an item-grind endgame = the dull.
Someone at Blizzard needs to sit down with the fellows that wrote most of the endgame stuff at Sony for EQ and start taking notes.
Being able to play through 2 raid-type instances is BORING as hell when that's all you have to look forward to...EQ had the 3 planes and 2 dragons in the original game, about 30-40 new high-end raid-type areas in the 2nd expansion, a once-per-server event in the third expansion...etc etc, it just got better and better.
WoW...2 instances for the endgame makes me snore. I've gone through 'em both, and neither one appealed to me as much as Plane of Time, or hell, the Plane of Growth from EQs Planes of Power expansion...or even through the various Vellious factions in SoV expansion. |

| Re: Just generic WoW venting... I haven't been to BWL yet, but Molten Core is brilliant.
Hard as hell, especially for a guild that is new to it. |

| Re: Just generic WoW venting... I'm guilded with folks I've been raiding with in a variety of games for the last 5 years..we've got our stuff down cold. We hit the bar on a Friday night, grub/drink a few hours, then head home and mop up on instances..it just gets old. After seeing the top-end stuff in EQ for 3+ years and then comparing it to the (admittedly fledgling) end-game in WoW...
I'm enjoying playing each individual class for what they are..right now I'm leveling up a warlock (22 now, mid30s by the end of the weekend since this is a thoroughly non-busy weekend), and learning the pros and cons..and plus by the time Blizz gets done balancing classes I'll be able to pick the one I really want to play. |

| Re: Just generic WoW venting... Sorry to dig up an old one but I just noticed this cos I'm at work
I actually really enjoyed that warlock quest... it forces you to explore half the world really, and you get your first taste of PvP. I did it at night so the only person I met was a 20 undead warrior who I managed to beat! (er, after using a healthstone, a potion and a bandage).
Stopped the warlock at 23 though... I'll go back to it, but it's warrior that's fuelling my addiction for now. |
