Just generic WoW venting...

Urgh.

Started another alt, Warlock this time. (loved EQ necros, figured this might be interesting. Plus, I want to summon doomguards. Muahaha)

Hit level 20, time for the Succubus pet quest. Dead easy. Go here, talk to this guy, go to a forest someplace, get something out of a container, hearth back to Stormwind, defeat the pet. Fine. Dead easy.

So I'm Alliance. On a PVP server of decent age (ie, populated with mostly level SKULL characters). I then start doing the quest research...uh-huh...talk to some guy in THE FREAKING BARRENS, who is going to send me to Ashenvale Forest (oh that's gonna be a fun run) for the container portion of the quest. Great. Wonderful. And I don't even have a griffin for Menethil yet.

Griffin to Loch Modan, finish off the Mercenaries quest real quick. Soloing elites the same level as you is fun. Now off to the Gauntlet quest to break through north. Hunters mark appears above my head as soon as I step into contested territory, and I'm dead. !@#$% stupid hunters! Okay. Let's retry. Run my spirit back, scout the area real quick, resurrect. Summon pet, reshield, continue.
!@#$%!! Hunter is on the other side of the tunnel waiting for me. Fine. Sacrifice my VW pet for a damage shield, jump off the mountain. Hunter follows me and takes a nice phat 1k to the dome. I fear and DoT him, end game. Got me an honour kill.

Right, continue to march my way through the Wetlands to Menethil. Finally. Get there, get the new griffin spot, do a couple of turnins, sweet. Jump the boat to Theramore. Bling. Done.

Roll on out of Theramore, start going through the swamp/marsh area just outside of it. And get jumped by a level FUCK spider. Sic the pet on it, run, and sac pet before pet death for the damage shield. (lovin that)

Finally get to the Barrens and without thinking, I open my map to check the coords and reference em against my quest guy.
I put the map away and there's two lvl 40-50ish Horde (I'm in Horde territory btw at this point). They bow to me and stutter a phrase or two in Human, enough for me to understand they wish me well in my pet quest. How nice.
Talk to my quest guy, suit up, and prepare to skirt some lowbie areas on my way to Ashenvale. As a precaution, I get out my Jesus-stone and prime it.

Running past a couple of lvl 10s, POOF, I'm a sheep, my pet gets disspelled. I wander around confused for ten seconds. Puff up into pissed off warlock form, slap a couple of dots on the lowbies and watch them run back to town screaming for heals...they drop dead and a trio of 30somethings rolls out from the outpost.
I hoof it up the road before I get stunned, slowed, and blootered.

So I sit there looking at my corpse as they poke and prod me like I were a medical experiment. And they sit around and just do things to my corpse I won't repeat here. Stupid Horde. Eventually they get bored and wander off.... JESUS STONE! I rise up, cast a new stone, raise a pet, and run on into the forest.

Once past Ashenvale I ended up stalked by a 60 troll hunter, obviously bored and spending all his time sniping me before I called in the cavalry...I took one hit, he got backstabbed and sapped 3 times by 60 rogues...silly hunter. Got my quest piece, gated back, and couldn't finish the freaking quest as I was out of soul shards and suddenly 6 hours of my life were missing. Fun night, crap quest for a lowbie.

Umm...no, I save the Leeroy antics for my tabletop game on Saturdays...one fifth of my disadvantages are stuck into Impulsiveness. I leeroy 9 times outta 10

Mind you, I can sell large glimmering shards now for about 7-8G a pop which is helping the funds go up nicely.

Next time you're on add me to the AN guild eh mate, I'm fed up of the two or three I've tried.

I think i'm gonna be getting my Epic Mount soon (Choose to sell the Pristine Hide that i got). So once that's done i can help you get your mount :P
