World of Warcraft [I'm a WOW Virgin with a wee problem]

Hey guys,
I see a few folks on here are right into their WOW, and I need a little help;
I've only just installed it today, and everytime I log on (about 3 times now) I seem to do nothing but download updates and then a wee progress box comes up saying "patching".
As I said this has happened 3 times, is this normal?
If not, what am I doing wrong?

Aye mate, you'll be downloading patches for hours - they bring out one a week and have done since it was launched so you've got a bit to go.
