The trouble with many live CDs is that they fail to capture the energy and rapport of a live performance. From the opening chords of the first track, "Why Henry Drinks", you are aware that this is not gonna be the case here and are transported to stage front in a hot, sweaty, seedy club and given the full DBTs live experience. When "Lookout Mountain" kicks in, you can just see Patterson Hood on stage, taking off his leather jacket (cos it's getting kinda warm), smiling at Mike Cooley and stomping his foot to the heavy riff. The best thing is, they maintain this momentum throughout the whole album. Each song is a peach and the banter between songs is, as always, entertaining and often poignant - the story of Patterson's mom finally finding happiness with a 350lb trucker before "18 wheels of love" brought a tear to my jaded eye. If you only buy one live album in your life, make it this. Upcoming Events Album Information Title: Alabama Ass Whuppin'
