The tasters for this album are catchy, and they have been well marketed. After a few listens though, even some of the good songs are (designed to be?) stadium chant-alongs, and, in one case, a stadium swear-along. Stabbed is very poor.
The DVD (I bought that version obviously) is not good quality and perhaps a misguided release, because they don't actually come across all that well. The drummer, Caroline McKay looks shaky and drifts occasionally, which is quite shocking for a band so highly rated.
James Allan makes the most of his Joe Strummer looks though the band dabble in the 1950s rock n roll nuances a wee bit too much. I found some of the songs catchy, but ultimately nothing "new" emerges on repeated listening
With a little more imagination in their arrangements they may bring us a more exciting second album; good luck to them.
